– BURGER & LOBSTER –
Burger & Lobster was founded in 2011 with the idea of going back to basics of a restaurant culture where craftsman offered only a few items that they were known for. The Burger & Lobster craftsmanship is exactly that. The Burger is made with highest quality natural beef and the Lobster is sustainable live lobster
I accompanied Dee to have iftar with her at Burger & Lobster in DIFC. The location was easy to reach and I had no trouble finding it at all. The exterior of the restaurant showcased lobster traps – like those used when hunting for them. Inside those cages, however, were light bulbs hanging delicately and illuminating the display window.
The atmosphere and ambience of the interiors were warm, cozy and unlike most places that serve burgers and/ or lobsters, it smelled and looked wonderful. I can say that this was a refreshing change! Right at Iftar time (breaking fast), the lights were slightly dimmed, creating an even more romantic atmosphere. I believe that dining should be a relaxing experience – and this place offers just that.
We were later visited by the General Manager Ali, whose attitude was very welcoming. The staff members at Burger & Lobster were no short of hospitable, attentive and helpful, either. If you’re not one for cracking open lobsters and getting your hands messy, they would kindly do it for you.
Here’s what we had:
Drinks: There’s a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as tea and coffee but we opted for one of their specialty drinks: Raspberry Lemonade (raspberry and lemon juice topped with sparkling water).
Main course: Grilled Lobster, Lobster Roll (personal favorite), Grilled Beef Burger with bacon and cheese. Each of the main courses comes with salad, fries and Garlic and Lemon Butter on the side.
Desert: Milk Cake (very comforting and unique in a good way), Lemon Cheesecake (crust-less). To my surprise, the desserts were equally impressive. Not to mention that I am big on sweet things.
Milkshakes: Butterfingers – chocolate ice cream and peanut butter (I kid you not, this was one of the best shakes I’ve tried) and Cinema Popcorn (salted caramel ice cream and cinema popcorn).
I would genuinely recommend visiting Burger & Lobster, especially during Ramadan. Although a finicky eater with a sensitive stomach, I felt great after eating their food; it’s clean, high-end and affordable. I was so glad I didn’t have to get my hands dirty – literally.
Fun Fact: On the way out, you will be able to see a sign that says “Laters, Taters”. Cute touch.
