We must always have old memories and young hopes” — Arsene Houssaye

For those who may not be familiar with the Old Souk, it’s a cultural landmark that resides in the oldest parts of Dubai. It lies on opposite sides of the Creek, both Deira and Bur Dubai, where people can cross by boarding old wooden boats known as ‘Abras’. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots in Dubai.

I had the pleasure of meeting a great photographer that possesses a very creative vision – Ash Australia. Truly, what better way to connect with others than through an appreciation for art, colors and life?⠀Every street and every alleyway speak silent stories – untold before. Such is life, the paths we take make us into who we are, and it’s ultimately down to us to share the stories we create. We each have our own perception of life and own roads to take.

Now for my outfit: I combined my “Hala” (hey) tee (from Sons of Yusuf) with my Adidas Originals track jacket and my midi pleated skirt. As for my shoes, I went with my favorite Dr. Martens pair for an alternative look and edgier look.

Fun fact: Although we just wanted to meet up for a short while, we turned the hangout into a fun and unexpected shoot. Learn more about talented Ash here.
